Our partners at LA Sanitation are accepting applications for their two sewer lateral rebates. All rate-paying owners of multifamily, commercial and industrial properties who pay sewer service charges to the City of Los Angeles are eligible to apply for these funds.
The rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Customers can receive a rebate of up to $300 for a CCTV sewer lateral inspection and up to $1,000 for a sewer lateral repair.
A range of signs can indicate sewage backing up onto your property due to a sewer lateral in need of repair. Among these are slow-draining drains, water standing in showers that won’t drain and gurgling in toilets. Additionally, wet areas in your yard may occur from a cracked or broken pipe, and tree roots may enter your private sewer lateral, eventually blocking it and causing sewage backup.
To diagnose the backup’s cause, a plumbing contractor can perform a televised CCTV private sewer lateral inspection. If this procedure exposes evidence of damage, you can hire a bonded and licensed plumbing contractor to make the necessary repairs to your private sewer lateral.
